Outdoor Resources

Dartmouth is consistently ranked as one of the top outdoorsy colleges and the DOC is the oldest and largest collegiate outing club in the country. The OPO staff is thrilled to work in the Upper Valley where trails, skiing, rock climbing, and so much more is right outside our front door!

The Appalachian Trail runs through campus, we're 20 minutes from great whitewater boating and 40 minutes from some of the premier sport climbing in the northeastern US. You can ski from campus onto 20+km of groomed nordic skiing at the Oak Hill Outdoor Center, hit the slopes at the Dartmouth Ski Way, and it's a quick jaunt to Mount Moosilauke, Dartmouth's very own New Hampshire High Peak

Volunteer on Our Trails

The DOC maintains over 50 miles of the Appalachian Trail and is always looking for support!
